The electric Bajo Sexto is another development of DS. With the support of the
outstanding musician Max Baca (Texas Tornados, Flaco Jimenez, Rolling Stones,
Joe Ely, Los Super Seven) DS has build a new slightly different electric Bajo
Sexto for traditional and modern stage use. The hollowbody construction reduce
the weight of the bajo and assist the warm ringing tone.
The tailpiece and the adjustable bridge are special parts built by DS to allow
a perfect string tension and intonation while holding the strings in the
right position. For an easy and perfect tuning we use high quality Tuners by Schaller.
The two piece body made of wonderful figured walnut has a fine european spruce
top for better tone and classical look. The Body is finished with a clear high
gloss finish for the great look. The neck is made of two piece of bookmatched flamed
maple with a walnut stripe in between. It is equipped with a truss rod for perfect
neck adjustment.
The 12" radius rosewood fingerboard together with the thin comfortable neck
allows to play the bajo sexto very easy. For a better playability and feeling we use
an oil/wax finish instead of laquer. For best sound results we developed two special
sized handcoiled pickups. The two push/pull pots control volume and tone and
turns from humbucker to singlecoil. Together with the 3-Pos. toggle switch the
musician has a wide range of sound variations.
The new DS Bajo Sexto called the "Tex-Mex Rocka-Baca" is a unique instrument
for a new era of playing and performing.

Das Bajo Sexto ist ein 12-Saiten Bass der speziell für Max Baca (Texas Tornados,
Flaco Jimenez, Rolling Stones, Joe Ely, Los Super Seven) entwickelt wurde.
DS hat auch hier neu Wege beschritten und ein eigenständiges Instrument
geschaffen, das auch traditionelle BajoSexto Spieler zu begeistern vermag.
Der ausgefräste Korpus aus dekorativem Nussbaum ist mit einer Fichtendecke
versehen. Der zweiteilige Ahornhals ist mit einem dünnen Nussbaumholz-Streifen
verleimt und einem Palisandergriffbrett versehen. Das ebenfalls von DS
entwickelte "Tailpiece" und die "Brigde" erlauben eine perfektes justieren
und stimmen der Saiten. Die zwei handgewickelten Tonabnehmer sorgen für den
nötigen Druck und den ausgewogenen Klang. Ein 3-Weg Schalter, Volumen und Tone
Poti mit Push/Pull Funktion regeln die verschiedenen Soundkombinationen. Der
Body und die Kopfplatte sind mit einer transparenten Lackschicht überzogen.
Um ein angenehmes Spielgefühl zu erreichen, ist der Hals mit einem Oel/Wachs
Finish versehen.
Die Kombination von schlichter Eleganz und modernem Design spricht sowohl
traditionelle Spieler als auch innovative, experimentierfreudige Musiker an.
